Docker is an open-source project for virtualizing operating systems in encapsulated sections called containers. Unlike a full-fledged VM, which emulates a completely different operating system than the host system through hardware virtualization, containers are isolated areas on the host machine.
Docker enables automatic deployment, scaling and management of applications running in containers. In combination, these two technologies are an unbeatable team.
